Sara Elphinstone

Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

I specialise in working with neurodivergent individuals to improve their lives.

I am autistic and have ADHD and have neurodivergent children, so I bring lived experience to my practice which deepens the therapeutic relationship.

My clinical knowledge of Autism/PDA/ADHD is vast having worked in assessments, diagnostic support and training and set up a successful counselling service within an autism and ADHD organisation

I offer pluralistic therapy through a neurodivergent lens drawing on theory and practice from a variety of approaches including psychodynamic, humanistic, and nervous system regulation to improve mental health and wellbeing.

Often there is a lot to process when we identify our Autism and/or ADHD, and we find we need to look at our lives through a new lens. We have usually carried trauma and shame around our true selves and due to masking may not feel we know who we are. My passion is providing neuroaffirming therapy that can help you build a positive neurodivergent identity.

I aim to make adjustments you might need to access therapy with as little stress as possible, Eye contact or sitting still are not required in my sessions!

Sessions are 50 minutes long and charged at £70.
