Angie Whysall
Counsellor

I’m Angie, a qualified counsellor and MBACP member, offering professional counselling to adults experiencing a range of personal, emotional and relationship difficulties.

There may be times in life when things feel difficult to manage, whether you are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship problems, grief, trauma, life changes or simply feeling overwhelmed. You may have been coping for a long time and reached a point where you feel ready to make some changes.

My aim is to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and be genuinely heard. I work collaboratively with you, respecting your individual experiences and allowing you to explore what is important to you at your own pace.

My core approach is person-centred, alongside drawing on Transactional Analysis and Gestalt approaches where appropriate. This can help us explore patterns of thinking and behaviour, relationships, emotions and experiences that may be affecting your life in the present.

Alongside my counselling training, I have extensive professional experience working within substance misuse and mental health services. This has given me experience of supporting people through complex and challenging circumstances, including addiction, trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties and significant life events.

I believe that seeking counselling is a personal choice and that you don't need to reach crisis point before asking for support. Sometimes having a dedicated space to stop, reflect and understand yourself can be the first step towards positive change.

Room to Breathe Counselling offers you the time and space to pause, be heard and explore what comes next.

If you feel counselling could be helpful, please get in touch for an initial conversation to see whether working together feels right for you.
