Seated Acupressure Massage Diploma
Notice: As we remain in lockdown #3 the challenges to all are more evident. New variants of Covid-19 are appearing and the pressures increase on healthcare systems worldwide. Here in the UK the NHS is barely coping with the influx of patients. Sadly, there are those people who choose to ignore the Government guidelines and put all of us at risk.
Courses here at AOSM require vital hands-on practical tutoring and so our courses remain suspended until such time that it is safe to return. In light of the current situation the March courses will not take place and we apologise for any inconvenience. Stay safe and well. AOSM
If the idea of being able to offer shorter, effective massage to potential corporate clients is something of interest, then you are in the right place. But it is not something you can learn in a day, for a number of reasons.
Firstly, you must be qualified in some form of body massage and anatomy & physiology. This gives you the hands on experience of working with a range of 'bodies', the knowledge of how the body works and the effects of massage can have on the different systems of the body.
You wouldn't want someone working on your car who has little or no prior knowledge , ‘learns’ their trade in a day and who expects to be paid for what they do. So why would you want someone providing Seated Acupressure Massage who has no, or inadequate, knowledge and training!?
With your foundational knowledge and experience in place, you can now embark on the next stage of your journey.
Training involves a mixture of home study, on line group study and hands on practical classroom time, after all massage is a ‘hands on’ skill that requires ‘hands on’ training!
The theory and any non-practical work is covered in the home and on line group study.
The practical work is completed in a classroom situation, over two separate days.
Each practical day involves learning by receiving, giving, and observing the massage. As part of this, each student will receive a massage from the tutor on day one, to fully understand the massage from a receiver’s point of view. The remaining students will be able to observe the way the techniques are applied and how the massage flows.
For ease of learning new skills, the routine is broken down into ‘bitesize’ modules. Each module is demonstrated by the tutor followed by students practicing on each other, with tutor guidance. Further details can be found at course content.
